Roman Holiday

One of our favorite things about living in San Francisco is the movies in the park. On Saturday night we watched one of my favorite classics, Roman Holiday. I grew up watching old classic movies with my Grandma and I cherish those memories and there is nothing more classic than Audrey Hepburn. Watching Roman Holiday on the big screen from the front row, in the middle of Union Square, cuddled up with my darling boy, while eating takeout. Needless to say it was a perfect date night! It was the perfect way to prepare for the Roman holiday of our own. It was fun to see so many of Rome's famous sites and think about the memories we will be making there later this week. We are both excited for our upcoming Mediterranean adventure, Thursday can't come fast enough.

Words of Wisdom

I heard this great quote by Eleanor Roosevelt that has really stuck with me and I just love it. "Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people."

I just see this as a great perspective to have as I work on my goal of becoming a better conversationalist and friend. I just love when you hear exactly what you needed when you need it most. I've found life is full of those little blessings and perfect surprises. So, what has helped you lately?

What we have been up to...

Well I did it! In June I graduated from UCSF with my Masters of Nursing as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. It was so wonderful to have family out to celebrate with us. We loved paddling around our city, eating at a few favorite restaurants, and chatting in our apartment. It meant so much to have my parents and Chris's family out for the big day and definitely made it special. Thank you everyone for coming! We can't wait for your next visit.

We spent an afternoon in Golden Gate Park

We ran the bridge

We rode the F Train down by the Ferry Building

We took the tour of Alcatraz

We enjoyed a sunny day at AT&T park for an afternoon Giants game

We walked around The Palace of Fine Arts

We played at Crissy Field

The Big Day

We played on Baker Beach

Then we enjoyed some time crossing the bridge and driving to Stinson Beach

Thanks again fam for making the trek out and for the great visit. We love you and miss you, xo.

It's Raining Men...

On this Father's Day, we wanted to thank our dads for all of their love and support. You have been great examples of faith, hard work, and humor. We wouldn't be where we are today without you. Words can't express how grateful we are for you, but hopefully these pictures will bring back many fond memories we've shared over the years.

We love you!!!

A Day For Mothers

Dear Mom,

Our hearts are full of love, gratitude, and appreciation this day as the world celebrates you. As my mother, you have been the perfect example of charity and sacrifice.

You have always been on my sidelines cheering me on in life and your warm hands comforted me when I needed them. You have always been a great example of faith and have taught me by your example how to serve others. One of the greatest lessons you taught me was to be humble, to never seek for more than what I needed, and to be happy and grateful for what I have. I admire and appreciate how you always put our family first.

You taught me the strength of women and encouraged my independence, you always had a listening ear and good advice during moments of discouragement. From you I have learned the importance of hard work, enjoying life, finding my own path, and finding excitement in the future. There are many qualities and characteristics I have gained from you.

Most importantly, you taught me about the life and example of my Savior. You taught me to rely on the Holy Ghost and be obedient to the principles of the gospel. You taught me the importance of keeping the commandments and trusting in my Heavenly Father. You taught me how to be a missionary every day for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

I never questioned your love for me and am now learning more of the depths of that love. You are not only my mother, you are my friend. You loved, nurtured, and cultured me and allowed me to grow into the person that I am now. I am so grateful for you. I love you with all my heart. We love and cherish you.
